Job Description

1. Financial Management & Full Set of Accounts

Month-End Closing: Manage the full set of accounts, ensuring all journal entries, accruals, and prepayments are recorded accurately in Xero.

Financial Reporting: Prepare timely monthly management accounts and financial statements for local and regional leadership.

Cash Flow Management: Monitor local cash flow requirements, manage accounts payable/receivable, and oversee bank reconciliations.

2. Malaysia Tax & Statutory Compliance

Taxation: Lead the preparation and timely filing of SST returns. Manage Corporate Tax computations and ensure strict compliance with Withholding Tax (WHT) for cross-border transactions.

LHDN E-Invoicing: Act as the internal lead for the implementation and maintenance of the LHDN E-Invoicing framework, ensuring all sales and purchases meet regulatory standards.

Audit & Secretarial: Manage the year-end statutory audit process, liaising with external auditors and company secretaries to ensure compliance with SSM requirements.

3. Commercial Support & Data Efficiency (The “Plus”)

Business Partnering: Provide financial data and commentary to operational heads to help them manage their budgets and vendor costs.

Process Automation: Leverage Excel (Advanced) and Power Query to automate repetitive accounting schedules and bank reconciliations.

Dashboarding: Utilize Power BI to visualize financial performance, making it easier for non-finance stakeholders to understand the numbers.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Professional Qualification: MIA member or professional pursuit of ACCA/CPA/CIMA is highly preferred.

Experience: 3–5 years in an accounting role. Candidates from Big 4 Audit or mid-tier firms looking to move into a commercial role are highly encouraged to apply.

Technical Skills:

Required: High proficiency in Xero (or similar ERPs) and Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).

Strong Plus: Experience using Power Query (M language) or Power BI to handle large datasets.

Soft Skills: Meticulous, able to work independently, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.

Language: Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin
